I have just purchased an ATi "clone" which has 512K of memory. My problem: I want to take the extra 256K of memory off the ATI "clone" and put it on the ATI card (the reason being that I want to use the mouse port on the ATI card, and have higher resultion graphics). I have a schematic for the clone, so I know which chips to remove, but the sockets for the ATI card are a bit different. So... does anyone know which sockets I should use on the ATI card for the extra memory? "diagram" of the clone: -------- -------- -------- -------- -------- <-- expansion socket currently -------- occupied by chip -------- <-- hard wired memory chip -------- -------- <-- hard wired memory chip -------- -------- <-- expansion socket currently -------- occupied by chip -------- -------- -------- -------- The ATI card simply has 8 expansion sockets labelled U1 through U8. Any ideas? -- -- Chris Teplovs chris@zoo.toronto.edu Dept. of Zoology chris@zoo.utoronto.ca Univ. of Toronto
