View, CA (415) 960-7300 Lines: 13 I've been pricing motherboards lately and AMI is the most expensive by far. Are their boards really that much faster/more reliable/prettier than all the others or is AMI just money-grubbing scum? How much does the motherboard affect the speed of the computer? If I had a Micronics board with the AMI BIOS, would I have just as fast a computer? (I'd imagine the motherboard is second only to clock speed in determining computer performance, but I'm just a software dweeb.) What kinds of motherboards are people using and how do they like 'em? If I get many E-mail responses, I'll post a summary. -- Dave Glowacki dglo@ads.com Advanced Decision Systems
