I'm looking for a PD or shareware (or inexpensive commercial) program to
help with perform analog (and digital I guess) compensator design.

prog_cc (for the PC) is an example (is it available for the mac?) 

Hopefully, it will do Bode plots, Root Locus diagrams, Nyquist plots etc.
(Interactive pole placement in R-L would be particularly nice)

The sooner the better.
