Eudora sends a pair, per SMTP specs. The problem is that many dialups insist on translating that into or even . This is a problem in the dialup, IMHO. You're quite correct that changing Eudora's newline to be a single usually fixes the problem, and it's often a lot easier to do than making the dialup path clean and transparent as it should be.
