I'm having some trouble programming my modem.

I assumed that all I'd have to do was open the i/o drivers,
then do an FSWrite.  (to do say an 'atdt5551212'

But the the crashes like a big dog at the FSWrite.

I tried to get on ftp.apple.com to see if I could find some
sample code.  I didn't know where to look, so I didn't find
anything.

If anyone sees what I'm doing wrong, or can give or point me
to some sample code (whatever lingo within reason :-)) please
do so.
