Message-ID: <1991Jun26.185551.1576@burrhus.harvard.edu> Date: 26 Jun 91 18:55:51 GMT Sender: news@burrhus.harvard.edu (USENET News System) Organization: Harvard University, Cambridge, MA Lines: 13 Originator: kik@isr.harvard.edu On a Mac IIsi running System 7, whenever I choose "About This Macintosh..." and add up all of the memory in use and unused, it always comes out to about 350k less than total memory. This is with 5 meg or 9 meg (just upgraded), with or without extensions off, and even immediately after startup with extensions off and no nothing opened (except the About This Macintosh... thing). Does anyone know what's the scoop? Is this a FAQ I missed? (I saw the recent thread about huge memory "losses", but this is different.) Thanks for any info, and apologies if this has been discussed to death already. Ken Kreshtool (kik@wjh12.harvard.edu)
