If you intend to purchase and/or use *, be aware that

WingZ V1.1a	becomes VERY flaky if you paste ASCII data into it. In fact,
	I regularly get program crashes. WingZ is much more reliable if you
	use the "open" command from the menu.

SoftPC V2.0	cannot handle EGA or CGA high-res graphics produced by
	Minitab, which uses the popular Halo graphics libraries. Minitab
	simply gives an error, which translates into
	 "Unimplemented graphics Function." This is a real pity; I bought
	SoftPC to run Minitab (one of my favorite quick-and-dirty statistics
	packages).

Communicae	the new version will have a improved Tektronic emulation,
	that can handle SAS's perverse graphics plot commands. SAS relies
	on a really obscure feature.

Framemaker V2.0d	is incapable of significantly enlarging and reducing
	mathematical formulas. Integral signs and other mathematical symbols
	do not scale properly with reduction/enlargements. Also, invisible
	color still shines through on occasions; this is easily reproducible,
	but I have not found a common pattern.

Browser	(V2.1)	when the browser reappears because a different application
	is closed, it simply does not function (try to hide it by clicking
	on hide). Clicking on another window, clicking on the icon cube
	(which makes the browser reappear), then clicking on hide, works.

Powerstep	I really like this product. Unfortunately, it is no longer
	produced. One of its major advantages is that you can read in a
	Unix tab-separated ascii database, and it will not change the format
	of integers to real.2 (unlike WingZ). So, it can be used as a standard
	Unix tool.
