I have an 040 cube which I truly like, but my imperfect crystal ball seems to tell me that NeXT may have missed the boat. I do hope my rather pessimistic views do not materialise, but 486's keep getting cheaper, NeXT is not making a dent in the Unix world, and NeXTStep is just not being adopted by anyone. Where are the applications? At this point, we seem to have a very, very nice Amiga. It was the rage when it came out, but it remains a niche product. Where is S+ for the NeXT, a WYSIWYG technical word processor for the NeXT, midi software, authoring software,etc...What about NAG or IMSL? Are we condemned to Lotus Improv, Write Now, vt100 terminals, etc...? I guess I'm asking whether or not the NeXT is worth the trouble.
