This sounds suspiciously like a familiar problem over here having to do with multiple versions of LOGIN.EXE on our campus internet. When I boot my workstation, unless I specify which server it should connect to, it may default to any of a number of servers on our backbone. When I then log in, I run the default servers copy of LOGIN. The problem occurs when I run a 2.X LOGIN to get to a 3.X server: the login script will not run. When you log in again, you are running the 3.X LOGIN instead, and all functions properly. Suggestions (if this is in fact the case) -- 1) specify a preferred server when you run NETx (command line would be NETx /ps=servername) 2) put the same copy of LOGIN.EXE on all servers on your internet (preferrably one that works :) Good luck! }lips ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Eric N.
