View, CA (415) 960-7300 Lines: 35 We have in-house two file servers, both running Advanced Netware v2.15c. One file server is a bullet-proof Compaq 386 with an Nl1000 AppleTalk card installed. The other server is an xyz-clone 386 with an NE2000 ethernet card installed. Both Macs and PCs access the server through this card. Both servers have the NetWare for Mac v1.1 VAPs installed. Mac users can interact with the first server with no problems (except speed :-). We use PhoneNet PLUS to talk to the Nl1000 card. Mac users trying to access the other server through the Ne2000 card invariably lose connection through AppleShare - especially when trying to move data to the logged disk. I just tried copying an MS Word folder from my Mac's hard disk to the NetWare volume and received the following error messages: "The file "filename" couldn't be written and was skipped (the server is no longer connected)." I clicked on the "CONTINUE" button and more files startedimoving across. Later, the following message appeared: "FINANC2 in accounting" file server's connection has unexpectedly closed down. After clicking the OK button, the volume icon went away and I truely was disconnected from the server. Any clues from Mac/Novell neophytes out there? -- Greg Widdicombe | Advanced Decision Systems | _--_|\ * Up from Down Under * | 1500 Plymouth Street, | / *\ | Mountain View.
