Help !

A friend of mine is trying to connect a second ESDI disk to an Emulex MD 21
SCSI -> ESDI-converter. Sun's format does not recognize the disk. What needs to be set on the Emulex-controller ?
Are there any special jumper settings that need to be changed ?
