There is no error message from syslogd, but the last few lines of my syslog.conf file get ignored. If I move the last set of lines up in the file, they become active, and whatever is now at the bottom is ignored. The limit appears to be 17 non-blank-or-comment lines (or maybe it really has to do with the number of facility.pattern matches, of which I have about 30). Nowhere in the manual do I find any mention of such a limit, nor does syslogd tell me it is ignoring the lines (it just quietly does so). So: Ever happen to anyone else? Known bug? Workarounds? (I will try the obvious, like putting many patterns on one line, etc.) -- If the From: line says nobody@kodak.com, don't believe it. Jeff Van Epps jeffv@bisco.kodak.com
