Therefore no job control for this shell... If I open up another shell this does not happen. Also, if I run my .profile this does not reoccur. This does happens when I login in from other accounts. The only account that this does not happen is root. The last big job I did that could have screwed things up is to install X windows. But everything seemed to work fine in X windows and I didn't just go into AUX for quite awhile after installing X windows so I don't know if that could be the problem.
