I am at Auburn University at Montgomery, which has about 6500 students.  We are
considering the purchase of either the CARS or BANNER system and running it on
a IBM 950 that is also to be purchased.  We cannot find anyone who is running
such a registration system at a university of comparable size, and I'm worried
about winding up with a poorly performing system, even with the 950 running
only administrative stuff.  Anybody have any experience with a similar system?

The IBM 950 would handle only the administrative computing load--no academiccomputing would be done on it.  Can anybody tell me if this hardware/software
