The tty command gives a device name with a '/0' on the end of it (i.e. /dev/tty34/0). This device is owned by root and does not have group or world write priv's, but /dev/tty34 does? 'mesg y' gives an error about insufficient priv's on the tty device. Any ideas or hints? Thanks, Tom -- Tom Armistead - Software Services - 2918 Dukeswood Dr. - Garland, Tx 75040 =========================================================================== toma@swsrv1.cirr.com {egsner,letni,ozdaltx,void}!swsrv1!toma
