They say the culprit is SMARTDRV.SYS. I know I originally heard that you needed to turn off the permanent virtual disc and use the temp one by putting VirtHDIRQ=off in the 386Ehan section of system.ini. I have been running like this for months and no problems. I am using MSDOS 3.3. I also installed SHARE.EXE since I read somewhere that SHARE helps out when using the multitasking capabilities of Windows. My main question is how could SMARTDRV.SYS be the culprit. Does it not just act as a read cache and not as a read/write cache like PCTOOLS PC-CACHE? Please responde over the net since I am sure other might find any responces useful. Thanks. P.S. I have currently stopped using SMARTDRV.SYS (chicken I guess). john@DRD.com | John M.
