    Other than the XConsortium man page, I seem to be at a loss to locate
    current information about what the Consortium is, what it costs, who
    is currently a member, etc.

The man page tells you how to reach us.

Any organization interested in becoming a member of the X Consortium
is welcome to have an appropriate representative contact me for
information.  We send information about by post, not email, so
please include a postal address with the request.
