In particular, "xtmexecute" and "xtmrecord" to playback and record test scripts. In order for these functions to work properly, the Input Synthesis Extension must be in place. I have discovered that the Sun server in the standard distribution of X11R4 does NOT support this extension. In addition, I have determined that it is non-trivial to add the extension. It appears that some device-dependent code must be written. Has anyone succeeded in adding this extension and getting the Client Exerciser in the XTEST utilities up and running?
