I was successful in compiling X11R4 (which I did for the first time) on
a SPARC station 2 without any errors. However I find that some of the
clients cause the X Server to crash - prominent among them being twm 
and xcalc. I tested these clients by displaying on a different machine
and they work fine. Has anyone come across such a problem? 

Since I am trying out some graphic applications I am really finding it
difficult without a window manager. I would appreciate if some one 
can suggest me a solution to get rid of this problem.
