    I am trying to use Epoch, the extended Emacs editor on a SPARCstation
IPC which has a Type-4 keyboard, of course.  I want to bind the shifted
versions of the R keys on the right hand side to various commands.
Unfortunately, Epoch is receiving the numeric keypad equivalents of these
keys when I press shift, not the shifted R keys.  For example, when I
press Shift-R8, Epoch gets "8", not a shifted event code for R8.

    How can I modify my keymaps so that I do not get this behavior?
