He is very happy at Blazie Engineering and he finally get's paid to play with the Braille 'N Speak all day Only kidding of course, but I am happy he works for a company he respects now. I see how easy it can be to fall into the "parenting trap" with your spouse. David and I chose to live together before we got married to help make our life as realistic as possible. It was an important time for us. We both are mature enough to know that love doesn't make a marriage perfect. I have never found myself parenting David, but occassionally, when I've had a rough day, I fall short on patience. I have to remind myself that sometimes David is slower on some tasks than I am. This in no way reflects on David, but on myself. I am sorry to hear that you had troubles in your relationship because of your spouses inability to accept your blindness. I can see how unrealistic expectations and the way society treats sighted and blind couples can have its wear and tear on a relationship. It isn't easy all the time. When these times come, I just make sure we talk about it-- no one is able to completly ignore all the awful comments people can say. I learned to go to David with my pain, not try to blain him with my pain. I love the man, not the eyes. Glad you wrote to me. It does help sharing these feelings on this echo. Keeps us all a bit sane, huh? Talk to you soon...Sue -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!261!1089!Susan.Goldfield Internet: Susan.Goldfield@f1089.n261.z1.fidonet.org
