yet more SMC tinkering
The SMC driver's error handling has been changed yet again, to print
all write-verify failures regardless of patient mode.  We have seen
(already) one alarming write verify failure where the disk
claimed the data on disk was OK (ECC checked ok) but the verify
claimed a mistmatch.
