backup tapes
The long-overdue task of straightening out the old V6 backup tapes has
finally been taken care of.  Tape sets 8, 6, 7, and 1A will be retained
as part of the 3X cycle of long-range (biyearly) backups;  the remaining
V6 backup tapes will be erased and returned to the tape pool.  Phyllis
has suggested that the used tapes should cost a bit less than brand-new
ones, perhaps $20 instead of $25.  On the whole I think this reasonable;
comments, anybody?
