There is a loose connection in the plug of the cable running into the
printer's switch box;  the wire has come loose from the pin.  It shows
itself as the interface being unwilling to turn the READY light back on
when the printer has been offline and is switched back online.  This is
why the thing has been a little flakey of late.

The pin and perhaps the plug will need replacing.  As a temporary measure,
I have reinserted the wire, mashed the pin in a bit to sort of hold the
wire, taped the wires to the plug, and taped the cable down to the printer.
With luck this will hold the wire in contact until a proper fix can be
done.
