Will the seats work?  That has been a question that NASA
people don't want to test.  The ``D-ring'' operated seats
supposedly will launch the pilots from the cockpit and parachutes
should open.  They would work better for landing when they
would fly up.  For a launch, they could fly right through
ignition fires, the chutes might not have time to open, or
some such disaster.  Officials are confident however, as
are Engle and Truly that not only would they work, there
won't be a chance to test them.

Weatherwise, the outlook is mixed.  Forecasters still call
for acceptable conditions.  If it rains tonight, however, the
fuel will not be loaded and the shuttle will not take off
tomorrow.
