First off note that unix-wizards is not the proper forum for this,
there is a newsgroup "net.news" for discussion of netnews issues.
Those people on the arpanet who are not on USENET are likely to be
uninterested in your observation.

The B version of netnews will allow you to write your own program
as a user interface, much as mail currently allows you to write
your own mail handling program.  Brian Redman of BTL has already
started on a screen oriented user interface called "vnotes".
