card reader lives!
The Unix card reader is back in operation.  It's in a somewhat awkward
place -- in the angle behind the equipment racks -- but the cable is too
short to reach anywhere convenient.  When directing people to it, we
should be careful to (a) impress on them that it's not an RJE terminal,
and (b) impress on them that they are wandering in and out in the vicinity
of a lot of very expensive and fragile hardware.  Unibus cable, of which
there are several examples draped in that area, is about $10 a foot (!)
and not very robust.
