I support Joe Presley's idea to collapse mail adddresses.
However, rather than messing with the "from" line on the news article
or providing another field, an alternative approach is to  have readnews
check the local system's uuname list skipping unnecessary machines in the 
reply path.  e.g. replying to  "from a!b!c!d!e!f!user" could be reduced to
e!f!user if the local machine knew about e directly.
