no backups!
Since our magnetic tape drive is very sick, we cannot do our normal
backups of user files right now.  This means that if you have created
a file sometime since Wednesday night, and you accidentally delete it,
we CANNOT GET IT BACK FOR YOU.  So be careful, please.
