Silent(?) Crash
The system crashed this afternoon apparently silently [I was on
  a dialin line at the time].
This did not appear to be a ?CP HUNG crash. No dump could be taken
  since the tape drive is undergoing surgery at the tapedrive hospital.
The one oddity in re-booting was that it came up single user after I
  munged the date and retyped it.
