word processor query
A friend of mine is thinking of buying a word processor.
We were wondering if $3000 will get a reasonable system.
Does anyone have any suggestions and/or warnings? What
are the good companies? Would it be better to buy a 
home computer and get a word processing program?

Is there a newsgroup to discuss this?
