Weighing down COMSATs

Out of curiousity, how many of the (large - left suitably undefined)
mailing lists still use an ITS for actually doing the mailing, and how
many do the distribution from other hosts?  For example mail for the
list I deal with (INFO-LAW) may still come into ITS, but gets forwarded
to me at XX before I remail it.  The remailing then goes out through XX
and not through an ITS.  If I remember correctly, the same thing is done
for a couple of the other lists.  Maybe this sort of thing can be
encouraged?
