You could probably use the -l option along with grep to get authors names.
Matt Glickman (ucbvax!glickman) is actively working on news and is the
right person to suggest enhancements to (or better yet, if it's something
that can't easily be done with existing tools [you weren't very specific
about what you want], add it yourself and it will probably find its way
back into the official version).
