Yes, there has always been a bug where somehow readnews leaves your
newsrc looking like 1,9 instead of 1-9.  The next time you read
news it shows you 2-8 again.  I haven't been able to reproduce this
(and I've really tried!) but Matt says he has fixed at least one
such bug.  Let's hope that was it.
