glad to see that someone fired up discussion for travellers
(kudos, Michael, kudos...)

i'm heading for europe sometime in early may, and need specific info from
you seasoned folk on how a skinflint student can make the journey cheaply.
i'm interested primarily in which countries to avoid due to expense and
how to navigate the continent once i'm there.  i realize that the de facto
standard for young people is eurail.  anybody have a better idea?  also,
i'm interested in spending time in germany, and want to know how to save
as much cash as possible doing it.
