VAX lists and printing of batch log files

I am happy that DEC VMS developers are adding a way for a user to
inhibit printing or deletion of batch log files on job completion, but
I wonder who at DEC I could implore to select a reasonable default.
Except for people who use card readers (are there any?), I can't see
any grounds for the default being to print the logfile before the user
has a chance to examine it at his terminal.  What inefficiency to add
one more redefinition of a command that gets performed each time a
user logs in.

As for the purposes of the list, I thought the problem was solved.
Whoever is willing to undertake the work can volunteer to maintain the
list referring to VAX hardware only, but no one has stepped forward.
