uucp conn.c and friends
I agree with the article by Brad Templeton with respect to the need
for connect protocols for local area networks.  However, more is needed
in that uucp programs should also accommodate a dscnnt.c routine that is
called to effect proper disconnection.  With Sytek Localnet 20, we can
establish an 8-bit no-parity pathway, but the disconnecting routine should
have a set of default commands to restore the t-box to some standard settings
if the connect protocol changed any of them.
