Voltaire and freedom of speech (decvax!duke!bcw follow-up)
One can not really say that Voltaire's `attitude was pretty close to that
of a lot of 18th century Americans who were involved in the American
Revolution'.  However, one can say that Voltaire's thinking (and ultimately
Locke's thinking to a great degree) had a great amount of influence upon
Americans such as Ben Franklin.  In fact, one can find a lot of the important
points in the U.S. Constitution in Voltaire's `Lettres anglaises' and `Zadig'.
