EOF on card reader
The absence of any form of end-of-file on the card reader is convenient
for running big decks through, but is a pain otherwise.  Comments are
solicited on the idea of adding some form of end-of-file signalling.
In the absence of a convenient EOF button on the reader (a stupid
omission by the hardware designers), the possibilities would seem to
be (a) a special end-of-file card, or (b) end-of-file when the feed
hopper empties.  In either case the old behavior must remain available
for special situations (binary decks under (a), big decks under (b));
the most convenient way to do this would be to have a different /dev
entry for the old behavior.

Bear in mind that implementing this will be low priority.
