One should note that United States copyright law contains a much larger
body of law, since it states the US agrees to respect copyrights from
many other countries, including Canada.  For example, as I recall, restrictions
up here on how exact your declaration of copyright must be are a lot laxer.
If I sent a message from Canada, it would be mine without my placing a
(C) 1982 by Brad Templeton
on it - even though that's a good idea.
