news polling again
there is no need for henry to repeat himself. i also do not appreciate
being taken for a fool: i am well aware that we were not LITERALLY polling
DECVAX for 11 hours via a long-distance telephone call. i never claimed
that any of this was NORMAL, DELIBERATE policy--if henry (or anyone else
interpreted it this way, i apologize--that was not my intent.

what i did intend was to make it clear that i am annoyed and frustrated
at having to attempt to read or make an insertion into the news WELL OVER
10 times in the course of one morning. regardless of the "explanation" or
interpretation of the my original flame i still stand firmly that i have
a legitimate gripe. as a user of this system, i am entitled to satisfactory
service--wasting a morning is not my idea of good service.

the fact that we had no news last week can only be offered as an explanation
if this was the first time this week that we polled the news--it wasn't so
i don't buy it. 11 hours of working on the news database calls for a closer
look at the news system, not playing with semantics.

ps to henry: if you want a fire to go out, don't pile on more wood.
