Garrison Keillor, the host, blends shy sophistication with shy common-sense in wonderful monologues; The Butch Thompson Trio (featuring Butch Thompson who is almost fatally shy and an incredible piano player who s[pecializes in stride piano styles) plays tunes from James P. Johnston through Duke Ellington; and so on. I'm sure that anyone who has listened to it agrees that it's a fantastic radio show. It's on WNYC in the New York City area, Saturday evenings from 6pm - 8pm. Also of interest is "Cowboy Joe's Radio Ranch" on WKCR Sunday afternoons (2PM?) which features "cowboy" music including much Western Swing. Peter Langston
