Toffee Bars
This is a delicious, very easy, tasty treat:

1/2 lb. butter or marg.
1 cup brown sugar
Cream very well (I use my Cuisinart), then add:
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
Either mix by hand (it takes a long time) or in a food processor
or mixmaster.

Spread the dough in a 2 qt. oblong pyrex pan and bake at 350 degrees
for 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and sprinkle the top with a 12 oz. package of
chocolate chips.  Bake for 2-3 minutes (until you can spread the
chocolate).  Remove from oven and spread chocolate over the top
with a knife.  Sprinkle with chopped walnuts.  Let harden for
1/2 hour and then run a knife around the sides.
