First year exemptions






            It seems to me that with a definite shortage of CS profs and
       with  an  increasing  number of high-schools and private citizens
       purchasing their own  home  computers  and  learning  programming
       techniques  that  those  in the uper echons of students write the
       final within the first two weeks of the course.

            This serves to free computer science profs so  as  they  can
       spend  time  with  those little darlings who need the help and it
       aids the student in so much as he/she/it does not have to hand in
       a dull assignment every week.

            For what it is worth I did seriously consider going  to  the
       University  of Windsor just because I could avoid the 'first year
       FORTRAN blues', but they have not got any great time sharing sys-
       tem (at least none that I know of) so I came to this place.
