a little more info on ucds (for outsiders):

The objective of ucds is to produce a puched paper tape for offline
automatic or semi-automatic wire-wrap equipment, or to run an online
semi-automatic wrap machine.  the system allows one to specify a circuit
by 'sketching' it in a graphical circuit editor.  It is most convenient
for digital systems  where wide data paths can be represented by a single
wire, and collections of paralleled ICs can be represented by a single box.

thus a large memory circuit can be drawn in  5-10 boxes, independent of the
number of memory sockets provided.
