re. Imprisoned on a level
  This is not the first time I've seen someone complain of not
being able to find a door.  May initial guess is that you have probably missed
a hidden room.  In one game, I had this problem & finally found the
passage I was looking for after more than twenty "look for secret
passages" (s).  [We run version 3.6]
