Series/1 as 3270 protocol converter

When using the series/1 with 'Yale IUP' running as a 3270 protocol converter
on it, does the system appear as a local or remote 3270 cluster?  (3271
controller?)

Also, can it support SNA/SDLC, or must it be bisync?
