malloc problems
Does anybody out there have a memory allocater (malloc/free) which works
reasonably on a paged architecture like the VAX?  I'm thrashing my poor
little disks to death while malloc runs through the whole arena looking
for a space (which there isn't of course, during the growth phase).
(1.6MB program, 2MB main memory, 15000pageins before I killed it.)
