I was one of the support analysts/instructors that participated in the installation. At the time, I offered a beer bust to anyone that could break the file system security. I think I paid off once. The result was that we fixed some glaring holes in the operating system. University students/users should indeed be encouraged to "break" operating systems and rewarded when they report it. It can save a lot of trouble in the long run. Newspapers, on the other hand, should check sources and try to be objective and to report NEWS.
