Abrahamson, shuttle project director today gave George Page, shuttle launch director, the orders to commence the countdown for STS-3 on time -- at 0400 EST Thursday. However, shortly after that, NASA announced that Rogers Dry Lake would not be ready for a 29 March landing. Ruling out landing on the 15,000 foot strip at the Cape until the fifth mission, NASA must now decide whether to land at White Sands or to delay the launch (or hope that Rogers does in fact dry out).
